THIS WEEK I LEARNED

Children's Ministry at WPC

We want each child to know they are loved, valued and safe in our ministry. One of the ways we do this is by following our group promises. Please take time to review it with your child before class so that they understand the expectations. We will:
  • Listen when others are speaking and wait our turn to share
  • Keep our hands, feet, and objects to ourselves
  • Use calm, walking feet to move around the room
  • Use kind and encouraging words
  • Follow directions and make safe choices

Nursery and Godly Play

Today in Nursery and in Godly Play, we are starting to prepare for Easter by beginning learning about Lent. Our lessons from now till Easter focus on the season of Lent as a time when the church prepares to enter the mystery of Easter. Each week we are using a new “Faces of Jesus” Godly play lesson plan.

Music

The Chapel Singers are learning a song to be sung on Palm Sunday.  They can practice along or learn the song by listening to: https://viewer.jwpepper.com/smc2/?product=10187459E&preview=true

Chapel

NO chapel today, with spring break (and many staff are away this Sunday) we ask that children grab a worship bag and sit with families during worship.

Sensory-Friendly Worship

In our sensory-friendly service, the children learned about the arrest of Paul the Apostle in Acts chapters 21–22. In the story Paul goes to Jerusalem to worship God, but some people become very angry with him. They grab Paul and have him arrested. Even while arrested, Paul trusted God and knew God was with him, the Holy Spirit giving him courage to tell his story and the gospel story to all who would listen. Even though he is in trouble and surrounded by people who don’t like him, Paul bravely tells the crowd about how Jesus Christ changed his life. Paul shows us that God can give us courage to share the good news about Jesus, even when it feels scary or hard.

Important Reminder

Please take time to read through the bulletin for all upcoming Lenten activities. Take time to read the new issue of the spring Stack of Stones. Details include the Easter Egg Hunt, Holy Week Schedule, VBS information, and much more!
